Dissoluting familiar melodies and embodying the percussive nature of local music, Yan Higa’s miscellany of sound is unquestionably dense and emotive. By also merging their composition with acquired notions of craftsmanship (sculpting, scenography, installations) and mixed language from visual work to inner monologues, each track intimately approaches contemporary visions of sound design, rhythmics and dense ambience - layered textures, synesthesia soundscapes and asymmetric beats. Their introspective vocals unfold in a velvet melancholy and still bring contagious energy in its presence.
