devil is the first throwback song of mine i'm pressing on catalog. this record came out in 2019 and i had moved to la from toronto about a year prior. devil was such a pivotal song for me because it was the first time i ever got on new music friday independently, it also got on anti pop along with some other big playlists. with under $100 to my name this song helped me secure a major label record deal and keep the dream alive.

i wrote devil about my relationship with music itself, but disguised it as a song about someone i love bringing the worst out of me. at this point i felt like i had lost everything in my life from pursing music until it ran me into the ground.
