Description
Songbird:
A conceptual piece about a man who has been contemplating the end of his life. Succumbing to the decision to end it early he takes one last day to wake up early, go out in nature and be alone with this thoughts. As the hollowing thoughts drown him in sorrow he hears a bird call out to him. A simple yet chilling melody that resonates with the man. For whatever reason this alters reality as he knows it and as he sits listening to the bird sing he takes a step back to analyze his decision. This moment in nature, with his thoughts and surroundings he feels understood. That he is not alone. That the decision he had made didn't feel relevant any more. He gets up, walks himself back home and choses life.
This song is a thank you letter.
Lyrics:
In the morning mist
Where the dew drops kiss, define
A single memory of my fragile state of mind
And when all I had were seconds left of time
I took one last look and I heard you song your lullaby
Cause I don’t pray
But I should have
Back in those days
I could’ve used that
And in my own way
I really found out who I am
In the moment
I was peaceful
Soul was broken
Increased by ten fold
You were the last thing I expected to save me
In the morning mist
Where the dew drops kiss, define
A single memory of my fragile state of mind
And when all I had were seconds left to fight
I look back at then and thank you for my life
For my life
